There is probably an LDS church here in NL as well, but I don't think it's very large, I've never come across it.
Do you have special New Year's Eve snacks? Typical Dutch things are 'oliebollen', fried dough-like balls with raisins. Another one is called an 'appelflap': puff pastry filled with apple (and sometimes raisins as well). Especially tasty when straight from the oven!

Uh...whatever people bring...this year we had a choco fondue fountain, chips and dip, cheese, ritz crackers, and a couple other random things.
I'm pretty sure there is. I know of people serving missions there. The LDS church is in almost every country (except a few in the Middle East, etc that don't really allow religious freedoms and such...). I'm not sure how big it is there though. With the exception of the conference center (largest building for religious gatherings in the world, still not big enough...), I don't think the church usually builds big meetinghouses.

I'll google it, now I'm curious if there is a church nearby. You know what I just realised? We will never, ever be waiting again for the next Harry Potter book. Rowling won't write another one. Currently I am reading book 6 (in Dutch) to my sister at night, and halfway through a sentence I just thought "she still has 1.5 books to look forward to, I have read all the books..." Also, in book 6, Potter has to select new team members for quidditch. and there are quite a lot of firstyears present at the selection. But in book one, we are told that first years aren't allowed! Plus, Daniel Radcliffe has to do a lot of growing, because according to Hermione, he has grown about a foot between book 5 and 6

It said first years aren't allowed broomsticks. I remember it mentioning (at least in the US version) that they had to use the crappy school brooms to try out. Maybe he'll just walk on stilts. Here's church locator: www.mormon.org/worshipwithus

There are quite a lot more LDS churches in NL than I thought, when I searched the internet I only found about three...
I liked the interactive tour of a chapel. It all seemed so... homely, not as intimidating as an old (roman-catholic) church can be.

There's an interactive tour of the chapel? hmm....
I've been in several different chapels in real life though. Although the church building I go to now has a beautiful chapel. It's very unique and the church doesn't make chapels like that anymore. They've become more uniform in order to save time and money when building them.

I love interactive tours, it's like going on a short holiday, without leaving your chair. Public buildings often have them, so sometimes I just browse the internet to look at them.

I have a slow compy, so I don't do too many interactive tours.

Sweet
*has over 5000 posts*....remember when hitting 1000 was such a big number? Now, it's really not that much for either of us (to make 1000 posts is still a lot, but to have that much isn't very much).
Can you believe we've been on this site 3 (3 1/2 for you) years? This was the first forum that I joined (there may have been one or two previous, but they were deader than this one when I joined). Here was where I figured out forum posting...

This is pretty much the only 'worldwide' forum I'm on. There is a small 'leaving notes' site, but it's just for my ex-classmates. We started it when we were in the first year of college, and now, four years later, we still use it. But 3 years, this site? Now I understand why my sister knew 'that green site'. She must've seen me online here lots of times!
