No offense to the Tolkein's, but I don't think the Silmarillion is movie material. It's just so much to put into one film or two or three. Plus it has extremely confusing parts and it there are times that the S can be a sleeping pill. I got past chapter ten HA! Sorry, just had to put that out there.

Actually, I'd have to disagree with the sleeping pill thing. I mean it can be, but just when your starting to get into the semi-coma state that do something interesting like cutting off Maedhras' hand. the chapter on the Land of Belriand is pretty, um, difficult.

No to both. I do not think it could be done, and if it could, I do not think it should. Maybe like 1 story out of it, but... not the whole thing. Too long. Too confusing. Just shouldn't be done.

Hey, maybe they could make a television series out of it! Or not, TV shows these days are getting way messed up. But i do think that certain stories in TheS would make good movies.

Well, I personally haven't read it. But from what I'veheard about it, The Silmarillion wouldn't makea very good movie. I've heard it's long and there's just too many names.

I agree with Princess Gia. I never finished it. I found it boreing and V. "zzzzzzzz". From what I've heard most, MOST (not all) LOTR fans dont seem to like the Silmarillion....hmmmm

I have made two attempts at the Sillmarilion already. It is long boring, and has a lot of info. Combine that with a busy schedule, and you end up picking it up and having to start over. Once you get into it it might get better. A movie might make it easier to understand.

If you think the Silmarillion is boring you should read the "Book of Lost Tales" actually there's two of them and they have a lot of the same stories only they're more developed and in more of a story form instead of a history textbook, if you read nothing else make sure you read the tale of Beren and Luthien, its so beautiful! *sigh* sorry, I'm a hopeless romantic lol Anyway, I think that the you could make a movie of the Silmarillion but you would have to break it up into a dozen seperate movies each as a seperate story/chapter that sort of linked together, otherwise the movie would be several days long ;D

[glow=silver,9,900] It would be cool if we could see TheS instead of having to read it. Although I do like it, I just have a hard time staying focused on it sometimes. When people are involved I find it interesting I like it, but when he devotes an entire chapter to the landscape. that's because it's a milieu story though (does anyone know how to pronounce that?) I think I would like listening to it, that would be cool.
