Do you believe in faeries? I think that theremay have once been a creature something like a faerie. People often times see something, and explain it in the only way that they know how. So, it is possible that someone saw something and their only idea as to what itcould be was to call it a faerie. I think that if faeries did exist, they were either angels, or demons. The latter is more likely, as faeries (at least some types) often did harm to people, or tricked them. In the case of irish faeries, feys, or leprechauns, they did cause quite a bit of mischief. God is great, and God is good and kind, so naturally nothing that lives in heaven with him can be evil, and therefore angels cannot cause injury or any harm t ocome to a person. So, the same type of thing may be true of elves. Often times elves are depicted as spritely creatures, very similar yofaeries, but opposite of Tlkien's elves. Who knows...

Being the stubborn person I am I refuse to recognize Elves as the short creatures people picture them as. In other words Santa has Elfs, not Elves ;D(I've seen it both ways). Told ya I was stubborn.

[glow=red,2,300] Yep, I think that there are different types of Elves. There are the tall, noble, fair and proud Tolkien Elves. (My favorite ) Then there are the short, little Elves (of Elfs) that Santa has, and then there are the other ones, like the ones in the Elves and the shoemaker. These last Elves have on category for a bunch of folklore Elves, and Elves that you aren't sure where they go. lol! ;D And faeries (or fairys if you prefer) are somehting totally different. [/glow]

Yes, Elfs. The short ones are differentiated from the real ones by the f. So Elfin means short while Elven means tall and graceful. So says Her Stubborness.

[glow=purple,2,300] Yes, O wise stubborness. But there is one more fair than thou, she is known as Éowyn, the also stubborn, but taller than The Stubborness. [/glow]

I stick my stubborn tongue out at you. And the I go to my dictionary, for i looked it up once. It says, hold on let me find it, Elfin- 2. diminuative, Elfish- like an elf; elfin; mischevious. Ta-da, that's what the dictionary says. And as for the Lady Eowyn being taller than her stubborness I shall dig into my forced memorization of The Fellowship of the Ring (hey, if you'd seen the thing 18 times you wouldn;t have to try memorizing it either, it'd just kind of stick). In the words of the wise Lady Galadriel "Even the smallest person can change to course of the future. So says MarilleTheStubbornElf

hey Eowyn, do you think that I should put my story about Marillë Gil-Estel up here, or do you think that I would be harassed by thousands of die-hard Tolkien fans if I did?

Are you kidding Marillë? I think you would have to go into seclusion. It's a great story, but those die-hard Tolkien fans'll(DHTF) get ya everytime. Sorry, I'm a little behind, I was out of town.

It is a pretty good story (even if she does warp the whole story), and I love reading other people's fan fics too. But you don't want to read it just yet, she hasn't finished it and she told me she can't finish it until ROTK EE comes out, so you gotta awhile to wait.
And now that I think about it, you probably don't have to worry too much about the DHTF Marille, I'd worry more about the DHOBF (can you guess what I'm talking about?

[glow=silver,5,000] Sorry. It's kinda hard to stay on track when you have MarilleTheMadElf as part of the conversation. Why once my friends where having a perfectly sane conversation about pants and I brought LOTR up . Go figure. [/glow]
