Ok, this is just one part, I currently have 5 parts of this story, and am working on the 6th. Please enjoy. Thank you. My Beginning: Getting My Answers Part 1 After I found out the truth of my heritage, I left the home where I grew up in. I wanted to find out the truth. I had questions and I wanted answers. So I left. I had many adventures on my journeys, which will not be recounted here. But, in short, I met some elves and they taught me much. Mostly, how to fight, how to defend myself. I stayed with them for a while, and learned all they knew. I owe much of what I know to them. They gave me a sword, newly made, and taught me how to use it. They also taught me how to use a bow and arrow, and gave me a set for myself. I owe a lot to them. I asked them if they knew where I could go to have a lot of questions answered, and they said, “Why don’t you try Imlardris? Rivendell? The ruler there is very wise. He may give you the answers you need.”
And so I did so. I left their company and went to Rivendell. When I got there, I was looked at strangely. I told them to get the one in charge. They ran off to get him. When they got back, they brought with them a tall, proud looking elf with long, dark hair and grey eyes. “I am Elrond, son of Earendil, ruler of this place. They said you sent for me?” He said. “Yes, I did.” I replied. “I seek answers. I was told you could give them to me.”
“What would your name be?” Elrond asked. “Gia.” I said, plainly. “Your father? Your parents?”
“I know not. That’s what I want to know.”
Elrond looked very interested. “I would be of no help in that matter.” He said. “However… I know of someone who might be. You remind me of her.”
“Of who?” I asked. “The Lady Galadriel, ruler of Lothlorien.”
“Lothlorien? I’ve never been there, only heard.”
“Do you know the way?” He asked. “Yes, I’m pretty sure.”
And with that, I took leave of Master Elrond, and with left with some food and water for my journey. It was a long and hard journey to Lothlorien. When I finally got there, I found myself wanting to get out. But something kept me going. I wanted answers, and I might finally be getting them. After 1,500 years of searching. One night, I stopped to eat. Then suddenly, 3 elves jumped out of the trees above me. I screamed in shock, and instinctively (or so it became) put my hand on my sword. “I don’t think that is such a good idea,” said one, obviously the leader, in Silvan. “Oh, really?” I asked, also in elvish. “Yeah.” He said. “You wouldn’t live to strike another blow if you tried.”
Then his companions grabbed me roughly by the arms, and I was dragged to the feet of the Lady and the Lord of Lothlorien.

Ok, also in reply to Eowyn and anyone else who comments on certain things: This story is a couple years, so you'll have to excuse it if it's not up to par with my stories that I've written recently (on fanfiction.net and fictionpress.com). Anyway, at Eowyn's request, I've posted the next part of the story: My Beginning: Getting My Answers Part 2
I was dragged to the feet of the Lady and the Lord of Lothlorien. They sat tall and proud on their throne. Many years shown on their faces. I ripped myself free of the hands that still held me and fell to the ground. “We found her in the woods, my Lord and Lady,” said one of the Elves that had grabbed me in Silvan. “We can take it from here,” said the male elf on the throne. “Shall I take her weapons? She’s carrying a bow and arrows, a sword, and daggers.” I had acquired my daggers while I staying with the band of elves. “No, that won’t be necessary,” said the female elf on the throne, and the guards left. “We are Lord Celeborn and Lady Galadriel and we rule here in Lothlorien. Who are you and what are you doing?” said Lord Celeborn. “I was told by someone that I could have my questions answered. He said you could help me.” I said, addressing Lady Galadriel. “And what is your name?” asked Celeborn. “Gia.” I said. “Your parents?” He asked. “I know them not. That’s what my question is. He said you could help me.” I, again, said to Galadriel. “And who might “he” be?” asked Galadriel. “Lord Elrond of Rivendell.” I said. “He said I reminded him of you.”
“He did, did he?” She seemed interested. “Yes.”
“Well,” she said. “I cannot see how he could say that, but… There is someone you do remind me of…” “Who?” I asked. If she knew whom my father or mother was, I would be forever grateful. “Finrod Felagund, son of Finarfin. I knew him very well.” Celeborn nodded. “She does, doesn’t she? I didn’t notice it until you mentioned it… However…” “However what? How did you know him?” I asked. “He was my brother.” Lady Galadriel said. “And however… your eyes do not resemble his… I did not know him well, though.”
“No, no, my husband, you are right. They do not. They remind me of….”
“Of who?”
“Of Lady Amarie.” Seeing the confused on both her husband and I’s faces, she continued. “A Vanyarian Elf. She never left Aman.” Then she said, “Of none of this can I be sure. As far as I have known, Finrod never had a child. I would’ve known.”
She then started asking me useless questions. Or questions I believed to be useless. Just questions about my personality. Nothing I deemed important at the time. Then, Galadriel smiled sweetly at me. “What?” I asked. “There is no doubt in my mind that you are my brother, Finrod’s, daughter.” She said. “Your personality resembles his somewhat. And, plus I can see it…” “See what?”
“See that you are his daughter.”
“How?” I asked. She smiled at me again. “I am his sister. I knew him very well, as I have said before. I can see it.”
I smiled. “I must go.” I said. “I do not want to stay here very long. It’s a long way back to Imlardris, which is where I plan to go. I will be back, though.”
“Good.” Galadriel said. “I want to get to know you better.”
“You will always be able to come in and out of Lothlorien freely.” Celeborn said. “So you will not have to worry about getting captured again. I will make sure that everyone knows you are welcome here.”
“Thank you.” I said to him. With that, I took leave of the Lord and Lady of Lothlorien and was on my way again. I headed north and (I thought) west, but when I ran into another forest, I was greatly confused. Then some elves jumped out of the trees, bows and arrows aimed at me. I had been ambushed again. I can tell you I was getting greatly tired of it. I drew my sword, instinctively. “I’d put that away, if I were you.” One of them said in Silvan. “Why?” I answered. “You are surrounded by archers.” He said. “You would be shot before you struck any of us.”
“Are you so sure of that?” I asked. “Yes.” He said. “Come either come quietly or you will come by force. You’re coming with us either way.”
I took a deep breath. I put my sword back in its scabbard. The dark-haired Elves lowered their bows and grabbed me roughly by arms. I was drug right before the king of Northern Mirkwood.

Ok, at the request of Eowyn again, there's the next part, and the last part of this section. There is another section, and that is only 2/3 done (2 parts in other words done). My Beginning: Getting My Answers Part 3 I feel before the feet of the King of the Elves of Northern Mirkwood. I noticed that, while the other Elves there were dark-haired, he was blond. I wondered about it, but thought no more of it. He was probably of a different race than the others, or just different. It wasn’t, and still isn’t, important. “She carries a sword, 2 daggers, and bow and arrows,” said the lead Elf. “Shall we rid her of her weapons?”
“Yes,” said the King. The Elves grabbed me roughly again, and took all my weapons. I know it was for safe measure, but they were my weapons, and I didn’t like anyone handling them but me. I glared at them and then at the King. “You will get them back.” He said. “If I am sure that you are of no threat to me and my kingdom.”
“I won’t be if you give me back my weapons.” I said threateningly. The King held up his hand and smiled. “No need to be feisty, dear lady.” He said. “I am Tharanduil, King of the Elves here in Northern Mirkwood.”
Ah, Tharanduil, I thought. I had forgotten his name. I’m sure I had heard the name of the King of Northern Mirkwood before, but before he had told me his name, I could not recall it. “Who would you be?” He asked kindly. “Gia,” I said, “daughter of Lord Finrod Felagund.”
His eyes widened as I said my father’s name. “Finrod Felagund? You are of great lineage, my Lady.” He said. I nodded. “That I am.”
“And what is your business in Mirkwood?” King Tharanduil asked. “I have no business here.” I said plainly. “I was on my home from Lothlorien, and I got off the path. I have not traveled over here and knew not the way.”
“I see,” replied Tharanduil. “All I want is to be out of here and go on my way.” I said. “And where would your way lead?” He asked. “To Rivendell.” I replied. “Rivendell?” He asked, apparently astonished. “You live there?”
“No.” I said. “I haven’t lived anywhere for quite some time. I’ve been traveling.”
“I see.” He said. “And yet you’re going back to Rivendell.”
“Yes.” I stated. He then appeared to be thinking, and then he called for someone, and then elf that had taken my weapons came back. “Yes, my lord?” He asked. “Give the lady back her weapons.” The King ordered. I looked up at him, amazed. He had believed me and trusted me well enough to give me back my weapons. I was very glad, I can tell you that. The elf looked at his king, astonished. He obviously didn’t believe that I should be trusted. But, nevertheless, he obeyed his king and gave me back all my weapons. I felt much better and safer in a strange land with which I was unfamiliar with when I had my weapons with me. I put all my weapons back in their respected places and sighed. I felt much safer now. “Do you trust me now?” asked the King. I looked up at him, not understanding his question. I guess he knew I did not understand, because the next thing he said was, “I could see you were uneasy and didn’t trust me, and my people.” He said, “So, I gave you back your weapons. Do you trust me and my people now?”
“Your people, I trust not.” I said. “But you, I trust, as you have given me back my weapons. I thank you.”
“No need to thank me lady.” Tharanduil said. “They are rightfully yours, and since I have no reason to doubt you, I have no reason to withhold your weapons from you.”
I smiled for the first time since I had left Lothlorien. “Would stay awhile in my company?” He asked. “It is a long way to Rivendell, and you could seek rest and we could supply you with whatever you may need.”
“The supplies I take willingly, but I really should be going.” I said. “As you said, it is a long way to Rivendell, and I don’t want to linger.”
He smiled. “Of course, you are right. I will give you food and drink for your journey.”
With that, he got me food and drinks for me, and I was on my again. “Have a safe trip, Gia, daughter of Finrod Felagund.” He said. “Namarie. You are welcome in my kingdom anytime. Just promise me something. Next time… don’t come into Mirkwood from the South.”
I smiled. “I promise.” I said. “Namarie. Tenn’omentielva.”
“Tenn’omentielva.” He said. We have been friends ever since. And with that, I was off again to Rivendell. The rest of my journey went without trouble. I met no one but a few passing travelers, going to wherever they were headed. Eventually, I found my way back to Rivendell. (It was easier time when I got over the Misty Mountains.) Elrond greeted me and asked me of my travels. I told him all that had happened, and he was surprised at my lineage. At the end of our discussion, I asked him if I could stay in Rivendell when I wasn’t in Lothlorien. (I would, of course, be going back to visit my aunt and uncle on occasion.) He said that of course I could stay. I was always welcome there. We have been friends ever since, and I dwelt in his company until he left Middle Earth.

For Eoywn yet again... Second Age: War of the Last Alliance Part 1 Elrond and I were sparring in Rivendell one afternoon. Our skills with swords were both very good, almost the same. Key word: Almost. My skill was greater than his. I swung my sword underneath his, hit it sharply, twisted my sword around the right way, and swung my sword towards his. Our swords clashed as the metal of our swords hit. I felt his arms strain to keep the sword in place from the weight of my blow. Actually, it wasn’t really the weight. I was more skilled than he, and I don’t give my opponent time to prepare a blow, an attack or a block, or I would surely lose, as I am smaller, as I am a woman, and not as strong as any man. I swung around and hit his sword again, and this time knocked it to the ground. I picked it up quickly, so as not to give him time to pick it up. Then I smiled evilly at him as he breathed heavily. “Your skill would be of great use to us in the army.” Elrond said. “I know you know we plan to march on Mordor.”
“Yes, I know.” I said, tossing him his sword back. “I think it unwise but we really don’t have a choice.” Addressing the compliment, “But, as you know, Gil-Galad would never let me fight.”
“I know,” Elrond said, sighing sadly. “You’re a better fighter than any other person in that army.”
“I know my skill is great.” I said. “But that doesn’t change the fact that he would never let me fight.”
Elrond sighed. “I wish there was something I could do.” He said. “There is not.” I said, comforting him. “I wish there was.” He said. “Your skill would be of great use to us.”
I sighed. “I know. But the fact I am a Elven-woman would keep any Man or Elven-man – apart from yourself – from letting me fight.”
“No other Man or Elven-man has fought against you.” He said, stating the truth. “Actually – as far as I know – no one else but I has ever fought against you.”
“No one else has.” I said. “You are the only I’ve ever fought against.”
“You are inexperienced.” He stated. “Yes,” I said, “But skilled. Experience is nothing without skill.”
“Skill is nothing without experience.”
I nodded, knowing I had lost. He was right. But that didn’t excuse the fact that I should’ve been allowed to fight. But, as Elrond said, Gil-Galad would never allow it. Never. I put my sword back in it’s sheath, and set it aside. Then I ran my hands through my hair. “This is so frustrating!” I said. “I should be allowed to fight! Male or female shouldn’t matter! I’m a better fighter!”
Elrond sighed and smiled at me. “I know.” He said. “And I agree, an exception should be made in your case. But no exception will be made.”
“We both know that.” I said. “Yes, we do.” Elrond stated. “But…” “But what?”
“But I think I have an idea.” He said. “What?” I said, trying to see into his eyes. He averted his eyes from mine. “You’ll find out. If it does not work… I do not want you to get your hopes up.”
“I understand.” I said. “I will tell you if my idea succeeds.” He said. And with that, he took leave of me, and left to find Gil-Galad who was staying in Rivendell at the time. My mind swarmed with ideas of what he could have planned. I had not been able to tell what he was thinking. I knew Elrond well, as he knew me, but nothing could I think of that could let a woman – any woman, even one so skilled as myself – fight in the war. I paced around, thinking of what he could possibly say to Gil-Galad that would convince him to let me fight. Let’s just say I didn’t rest very much until Elrond found me after he talked to Gil-Galad.

Yes, I already had another part written, but I was not going to post if no one was going to read it. (And how am I supposed to know if anyone's reading it if no one POSTS!!!) Anyway, here it is: Second Age: War of the Last Alliance Part 2 Elrond found me a few hours later after he had finished talking with Gil-Galad. “What did he say?” I asked eagerly. “He agreed.” Elrond said. I can’t describe how happy I was at that moment. Then something dawned on me. “Wait a minute.” I said. “How’d you do it? How did you get Gil-Galad to let me fight?”
“Well,” Elrond said, “I lied to him.”
My eyes grew wide. “What did you tell him?”
“I told him that I knew an Elven-man who’s skill with a sword surpassed any I knew.” He stated. “You told him I was a Elven-man?” I exclaimed. “Yes.” He told me. “You do have the old Elvish power of enchantments, do you not?”
I had not thought of that. “Yes, I do.” I said. “You can simply disguise yourself as an Elven-man.” He said. I nodded. “Yes, I can.”
I cannot tell you how happy I was at the moment. I would finally get the chance the fight. Maybe not as myself, but I would still fight, and help out in the fight against Sauron. “I don’t know how to thank you.” I said. “There’s no need.” Elrond said. “A favor for an old friend. Think nothing of it.”
I smiled sweetly at him. “If you insist.” I said. “When are we leaving?”
“Whenever Gil-Galad says we are leaving. I expect it will be very soon, the end of the week at most. I will alert when we are.”
“Ok.” I turned around and went to get prepared. It never hurts to be prepared. As I sat in my room, I digested what happened and what was about to happen. I felt my heart pounding in my chest as the realization of what I was about to do hit me, and hit me hard. I thought about not going, but that was out of the question. Elrond had just gone out of his way to allow me to be able to fight, and I wasn’t about to let him down after he had done so much for me. After all, he had given me a home when I had nowhere else to go, and now he had gone out of his way and lied to Gil-Galad to allow me the opportunity to fight in a war I wasn’t supposed to fight in. I couldn’t turn away now. Not after all he has done for me. And I’m sure you realize I’m not just talking about this. I took and deep breath and calmed my thoughts. I had to go. Not going, well, that was out of the question. Plus, I wanted to go. I would look stupid and silly after making such a big deal out of not being able to go and then quitting. I sighed. Maybe I shouldn’t have made such a big deal of out it. But, I still want to go. I took a deep breath. I thought maybe I had gotten in over my head. Then I heard footsteps coming in my bedroom door (which I had left open) behind me. “Gia?” I heard Elrond’s concerned voice. “Are you alright?”
I sighed deeply. “Yes, I am fine. I just think that maybe I got in way over my head.”
“You said it yourself,” he said. “You’re better fighter than anybody in the army.”
“Well, yes, but I’m thinking maybe I was too eager.” “Your reasons were good.” He said. “I know, but-“ He cut me off. “But nothing. It’s normal. We’re marching on Mordor. Do you except anyone not to be afraid?”
I smiled at that. He was right. If anyone going wasn’t afraid, there was something wrong. “You’re right.” Was all I said. “Feel better?”
“Yes.” I said. “Thank you.”
With that he left, leaving me feeling much better. Well, Elrond was right. It was only a few days and then we were off to march on Mordor. Two days later and we got the call that we were to leave at dawn of the next day. Everyone was on edge, so I had no reason to hide my feelings. Everyone would naturally expect that I was nervous and scared for everyone leaving. And, of course, when they looked for me and saw that I was nowhere to be found, they would naturally assume I went to Lothlorien, since most everyone there knew that Galadriel was my aunt. Breathing deeply, I put on the armor Elrond had provided for me, and disguised myself as an Elven man. I made myself taller, but kept my hair and my eyes. Golden hair and blue eyes were not uncommon among the elves, so I had nothing to worry about. I only made sure that I looked nothing like my real self. I then left my quarters, sincerely hoping I would be back to see it again. I then went to where the army was gathering, and took my place that Elrond had reserved for in the front of the line, near him, because I had no experience, and he wanted me near him as long as possible, so he could assure my safety. My aunt and uncle (not to mention his children, who loved me dearly) would never forgive him if anything happened to me. “Is that you?” Elrond whispered once I took my place. “Yes,” I answered. “Great disguise.” He complimented. “I don’t recognize you a bit.”
“Good.” “Who are you?” said an elf next to me. “He’s a friend.” Elrond answered for me. “It is none of your concern what his name is.”
Naturally, Elrond assumed I had not thought of a alternative name besides my own, so he covered for me. Then we were on our way to Mordor. And then, one day, we arrived there. I can tell you I’ve never been so scared in my life. For the first time in my life, I was truly scared. I was marching on Mordor, facing the forces of Sauron. In actuality, I can tell you, everyone was scared. There was not a soul that fought in that battle that wasn’t scared. I took a deep breath, and prepared to fight, and to possibly die.

[glow=white,11,9300]I really like that Gia. It's great. Of course it will need editing, as does every great work of literature. Your style has improved over the course of writing this. I can tell that it has changed, it gets better and better on each part that you write. I can't wait for the next part. [/glow]
