He probably agreed with the DE theory. He said it himself that Lily was an exception to the whole mudbloods are bad thing, according to his opinion.

I think that if Snape grew up in a loving family, he would've been a much better person. He might still have been interested in the Dark Arts, but with (more) people who cared about him he wouldn't have had the drive to be 'good at being bad'. I'd love to able to see into a sort of parallel universe where Snape was a better person...

Maybe. If not for Snape, the HP books never would have happened. First, Voldie wouldn't have heard the prophecy. Then, if he heard it from a different source, then Harry would have died as a baby. Voldie would have killed Lily either way. She would have died because she was going to die, not to protect Harry. Therefore, Harry dies as a baby.

So Snape actually saved Harry by telling Voldemort of the prophecy!

Maybe Voldie never would have killed him otherwise. If not for Snape the HP series as we know it would not have occured. Voldie might not have targeted the Potters, Lily or Jame might have been killed, but Voldie would not yet have a reason to target them personally and passionately. Therefore he probably would have won, so he would have killed them all anyways because Lily and James would have never supported Voldie...hmm...

What if he had targetted Neville and given him the scar and the power to vanquish Voldie? I don't think Neville would have had the drive Harry had to revenge his parents...

If he would have targeted the Longbottoms, would Alice (mom) have been able to survive? Would he have killed her no matter what? or would she have been able to die for him?

so many ifs.... I don't think we'll ever know. Unless Rowling decides to write another series (But she said she wouldn't, so I guess we won't see "Neville Longbottom and the ..." )

lol. That would be unique. A Neville Longbottom series. Or if Voldie had never heard the prophecy and if he never was destroyed, the "Lord Voldemort series"....

Haha, 'Lord Voldemort and the Chamber of Secrets'. That would be weird to read The more I think about it, the more I appreciate the amount of background info Rowling put in the last book! Snape, Dumbledore, Godric's Hollow...

Yeah. Although I don't think I'd want to read Lord Voldie and the COS....way too many people dead...
I really do appreciate how she tied everything together.

I'm now at the flying car in COS, but I haven't found anything clue-like yet. I'll just keep on reading!

I remember Dumby saying a few things about his bro, Aberforth. I seem to remember he said something along the lines of "there were some bad rumors about him in the Daily prophet and he didn't seem to mind. Of course I don't think he even knows how to read." I have no idea which book it is in, or if I'm just making up a paraphrased quote....keep an eye out for it in your reading...

I will. Not that I'll be reading tonight: It is my sister's birthday and naturally the whole house will be filled with visitors tonight when I get back from work
