Dutch is the official language, together with Frisian (in the north, I don't speak it). Most of the people here can speak more or less English, and in the East a lot of people speak German. A few days ago, however, a survey showed we Dutch people overestimate our abilities to speak other languages, lol!

lol, dang all you get around here (in my community/half of the country) is mostly english and spanish. More spanish speakers know english then english know spanish.
Can you believe they aren't offering a spanish 3 next year? I was just starting to learn it after two years...ok last year I didn't learn much...

That is so annoying... and weird, especially when so many people speak Spanish in America...

yeah. They didn't offer it because we didn't really learn much last year, mostly because we had to get a new teacher halfway through the year and no one really paid attention to him, but I think it also had to do with the fact they needed a new teacher this year at the high school and jr high.
Stupid district. Can you believe they got rid of theatre at the jr high and replaced it with spanish? it was difficult for them to find a spanish teacher to take over for half a year (who ended up moving away so they knew they'd need a new one for this year), so they decide to have to find TWO teachers.

grrr.... at least you got lots of interesting subjects to choose from, at my secondary school you had only two optional subjects, and boring ones at that.... Well, Arts was cool, but I didn't like the teacher, and I quit after 2 months of Physics 2.... (just Physics 1 was difficult enough for me )

lol. Yeah there are plently of choices, maybe not interesting, but there are plenty. I got a graphics class instead though, so that sounds cool. The seemingly hardest class I got is drawing. Only because we are learning art theory and vocab and all that...

it's like a graphics art/media type class. I think you learn how to modify images and learn various programs to do things like that. i think, lol...I'll find out in two weeks and let you know for sure, lol...
