Everytime we watch "Renovate my family" or "Extreme Home Makeover" my sis and I drool over the types of houses they get... It is so different from here, even the before-houses.

my family is thinking about applying for the extreme home makeover. We just need to clean our house first...8 people in a four bedroom one story house isn't a good thing. We'll we are really close (literally).
How are the houses different from yours?

Well, practically all the houses we see on tv are detached houses, and that is not that common over here. We do have them, but they are quite expensive. Most homes are semidetached (ours) or terraced houses. And 99% is bricks, bricks, bricks. An example:

oh, so the neighbor is through the wall and not on the other side of the fence (relatively speaking, the only fences in my neighbor hood are to keep horses from getting out, but in town there's a few people w/them..)...
There aren't many houses like that in my town, but it's a little more common in the bigger cities. My best friend used to live in one across the street.
