As I'm sure you can tell by both my avatar and my oh-so small siggy, I love Ents!!!!!!! In the books they come across as uber (my new favorite word...next to "wonky") cute, as are they cute in the movies! I think that its so cool that Tolkien created a creature that is just all about the trees, and really cares for nothing else. There is even a part in Two Towers when Treebeard says that he really isnt on a side, just those who also care for the trees. I also like how they are very slow, and say only what is needed. Personally I think we talk too much and most of the time say things that arent really necessary . There is even a part in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy that brings that up (on a somewhat off note)... Anyways I was wondering if anybody else shares my same love for the Ents, that or if there is anybody who really dislikes Ents. And also who is your favorite Ent. I like Treebeard, but what Ent lover doesnt ;D, but my all time favorite Ent would have to be Quickbeam. I like him because although he is an Ent, he is very "un-Ent". He is fast (for an Ent) and rather playful (I cant really think of a better word, lol). Please post and tell me what ya' think about Ents

[glow=white,9,900]I love Ents! They are so cool. Unlike any other creature in LotR, pretty much. All the other creatures are humanoid, even if they are ugly. I guess Ents are humanoid, but they are also plantlike atr the same time. Steeped in Mystery.
I liked Quickbeam also. He makes up his mind quickly. Just because someone talks slowly, or talks less, doesn't mean they should then any more slowly or think less than other people do. Many people I talk to who are "Sutherners" say I talk to fast. I don't know why, because almost all of my family influence is southern. Must be the FLoridian influence. It's all the yankees (lol, jk) that come and have summer homes in Florida. lol! Treebeard is cool too. He's wise, intelligent, like the Elves and Tom Bombadil. I just wish they could find the Entwives. ([/glow]

I like the Ents. I talk and walk so fast because I'm from CA, but that's only when I'm on the go. Half of the time I just sit still and think or don't talk because I'm taking things in. Did you know that J.R.R. Tolkien got the Ents from a passage in Shakesphere's King Lear, I think it was? (I might have posted this somewhere else before . . .) But I like all the Ents I've met so far, and I'm about halfway through the book.

I like ents. If everyone could be more like them and things were thought before said, then we would be in a better world.
They have something I seriously lack (besides height) they have a whole lot of patience.
On the other hand, ents are a little annoying. I like long pointless conversations with no rhyme or reason. Ents are cool in their own way.
Strange opinion (like most of mine)

I really do wonder where in Middle Earth are the entwives? At one point I thought I had it figured out, but I can't remember what I was thinking then.

I know, the poor Ents without their Entwives I enjoyed the "Ent song" it was a *somewhat* sad song, but with a *somewhat* cheerful note...

Where have all the Entwives gone? They have toiled and stayed away so long. We can't remember how they look, because of how long the road was they took. No more Entings, no more seedlings, never relenting, all these weedings. We mourn the loss of our Entwives, who we must endure without in our lives. Has anyone seen them walking about? If so, give a friendly, cheerful shout. Lift our spirits higher, like a Sunday chior. We must find our precious help-meets, and once found we will always keep.

No, I don't write poetry unless it is assigned in school. I did write a satire poem about the triligy though. Very interesting.
