Well, we're TRYING to have a gummi worm party over in the POTO thread, but we're having trouble lighting the campfire. The party is in honor of my elfhood, but let's make it for Myrthe too! Yay!

[glow=white,2,300]No songs with my name in it, at least not on that search engine. I could probably find one somewhere.
BTW Erui, how do you pronounce your real name? That is, if you'd care to tell us. Good grief, I'm reading The Chronicles of Narnia and I'm gonna start talking like them. [/glow]

i've heard that is a good book, but haven't yet read it myself.....
Has anyone noticed that Eowyn (and occasionally Ardnole <hehe>) is (are) the only one(s) that post on topic?

[glow=white,2,300] BTW Erui, how do you pronounce your real name? That is, if you'd care to tell us. Good grief, I'm reading The Chronicles of Narnia and I'm gonna start talking like them. [/glow] The first part isn't that difficult, but the second syllable has an 'oe' in it, and English people don't really know that sound. It is somewhat like the 'oo' on 'book', but not entirely. Plus the combination of the first and second syllable is weird, according to English speaking people....

Mmmm. I'm lost. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Chronicles of Narnia! Did you hear that they're coming out with "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" movie this December? It looks absolutely WIZARD!

[glow=white,2,300]Ok, Erui, now you've gotten me interested. If it would please you (there I go again) to tell us your real name and pronunciation, I shall not cease trying to pronounce it until the sun dies and the stars grow cold. THe original (like waaaaaay back in the day) pronunciation of my name has a kind of "euh" sound in it, if that's the sound your Oe makes. My name's origin is Welsh, and it had a slightly different spelling and a slightly different pronunciation, before someone decided to change it to teir preferences.
And as to the CHronicles of Narnia, it is such a wonderful book. C.S. Lewis, you know, is brilliant. I would put him on the same level with Tolkien. They actually knew each other, and Lewis was a part of the "Inklings", they were a group that talked with Tolkien on his works. [/glow]

Well, Eowyn knows what I speak of. But what about the MOVIE? Has anyone heard about the MOVIE?

My name would be Marloes, and the funny thing is, you might be able to get really close to the Dutch pronunciation, but there will always be something 'odd' about it.... The 'a' is shorter than in 'bar', the 'r' is rhotic (rolling), the combination of the rolling 'r' and the 'l' is difficult (according to some of my teachers), the 'oe' is a weird sound (like the 'oo' in book, but slightly different) and the 's' is sharp. Have Fun!
