[glow=white,2,300]Thanks to our friends in the Netherlands we Americans now know some Dutch words. THis thread is for talking about the language, learning some words (if our friends would help), and asking what some words mean.
**Modification: My dad had a question, he was reading a book and their was a ship with a Dutch name, I think it was Waazaakhied. If that's how you spell it.
Also, what does the word Doloron mean? I was going to use it for something in my story, but I want to make sure that it didn't mean something bad. I did a search online to make sure that it wasn't already used. I found the word in a story called A Girl Who Walked on Bread by Hans Christian Anderson (not our cute delivery boy.) [/glow]

We'll be glad to help with any questions. (I am, and I think Myrthe doesn't mind, either ;D) edit: to learn Dutch: www.learndutch.org ;D

Ik ben geen goede schaakspeler. (I only know how the pieces can move, that's all! ;D)
But you were right, een mooie dag vandaag!
Tomorrow = morgen (with a 'soft' g) yesterday = gisteren (again, 'soft' g)
How are you? = hoe is het met je?/ Hoe gaat het met je?
LOL. it is so funny to see Dutch words in your post! ;D

Maybe if you google 'learn Dutch', you might get other sites that do work... ;D
