I think they should save the wonderful world of HP and quit before they completely ruin it. They nearly completely destroy PoA. Yes, I am very much against them making GoF.

YEAH!!!! STAR WARS!!! How am Isupposed to survive until it comes out? My sanity is hanging by shreds as it is. Especially since iwant to go IN COSTUME! Of course not as Padme, I'd rather be Jedi. (Does a lightsaber keychain count?) My sanity is hanging by shreds as it is, I'm likely to die from impatientce before IT comes out. Athough I do know of certain people who probably think that's a good thing. Or even worse, I could be locked away!!! And then I have to wait for Eragon and then POTC 2 (I have no idea when that's coming out) And, and, and I just lost my momentum so I'll stop raving now.
I don't particularly care for Harry Potter, I would like to read it someday to see if it is as full as witchcraft as some people have said it is. The trailers for the last movie do look pretty funny though.

Oooooooooo! I totally cant wait till Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy comes out!!!!!! I counting down the days till it comes out! I also cant wait for Willy Wonka to come out. I think Johnny Depp will be GREAT in it. None of my friends think he will be good in it, but I really think he will be (Johnny=a creepy, yet very good looking, guy. Willy Wonka=a very creepy guy). I'm not counting the days down for Harry Potter, but I would like to see it when it comes out. Just because there are witches and wizards (so does LOTR, minus the witches,  ) doesnt mean its an evil movie and/or book. If your looking for a movie thats already out thats good is the Life Aquatic. Its SOOOOOOOO awsome! |

I went to see Phantom of the Opera last night and was completely in awe. It was beautiful, I absolutely loved it. I was kinda like 'meh' when I first heard about it. Then I went to see it and...wow. That movie is GOOD.
Am I beeing cheesy?

As for HP... I guess it depends on your definition of "witchcraft", I mean... Yeah, it's about a boy and his adventures in a school to learn magic.. But it's not as if any of the spells are real.. They're just latin words... If you point a wand (yes, they do make wands) at something and say, "Wingardium Leviosa" nothing is going to happen. If I point a wand at you and say "Avada Kedavra" you are NOT going to die. They're fake. It's just a book. It's fiction.
Ok, I'm done now...Not trying to change anyone's opinion, just stating facts... I would suggest reading it before knocking it, though... (Oh, and btw, the books are much better than the movies...)

I'm not so sure they're fake. We have a former Wiccan going to our church and she said that she read the HP books and that they were really saying chants that witches and wizards. Now if you're a Christian, it won't affect you, but searchers who are unaware can be led astray by HP books. I mean if they fool around with it, then get pulled in deeper and deeper, they could get into some very demonic stuff and into a real occult.

[glow=white,9,900]Ok, I know that there are wizards and some magic in LotR. LotR is more of an allegory though. It represents the battle between good and evil, and the "powers" used are the powers that a Christian can have over demons, and Satan's "power" pver people.
I did see, in an interview with J.K. Rowling, that the spells were real. She went to a coven near her and got the spells form them. Witches are real, Satan and Demons are real, all these things are real. One of my friends lives in Malawi, and another in South Africa. They have a lot of witches there. Sometime I will post one of their accounts of the witchcraft going on in the area. I will have to correct the grammar though, Africans trying to write English can get a bit confusing.
I have read HP 1, and seen the movies. The book is good writing, and the plots are good as well. In the movies most of the magic was just fun stuff. Invisability, time travel, but when they got to the dementors and reading the tea leaves, that's when it started feeling really evil.
And as to it being "just Latin", words have meaning. You could sell your soul to Satan in English, Latin, Spanish, or whatever. Just as you can accept Jesus in English, French, DUtch, or Gaelic. Romans used to speak in Latin, so the words do have meaning.
On a lighter note:
"Did you hear about the dyslexic devil worshippers?"

"They sold their souls to Santa."

The books are a whole lot better than the movies. All five books are awesome and the first two movies are acceptable. That's my opinion on HP
yeah, a lot of the talk about real witches is bolone yeah if you go on you will find a very mad and offended Arinae.

the only thing i remember about the first one was it was stupid and a a wooden mask that turns your face green.
